Who am I?
My name is Kabir Nigam. I am a Harvard-trained psychiatrist with expertise in treating patients with trauma and mood disorders. I am currently an attending psychiatrist at Mclean Hospital on an inpatient unit specializing in the treatment of PTSD and other trauma-spectrum disorders. I work within a psychodynamic framework while employing principles rooted in psychoanalysis, internal family systems, acceptance and commitment therapy, and somatic experiencing. I have a special interest in the application of psychedelics and other non-ordinary states of consciousness in psychological healing, and incorporate principles from this into my approach to working with patients.
In addition to my formal education, I have spent my life studying Eastern philosophy and spirituality as a means of understanding and integrating healing paths outside of the Western medical model.
I am here to walk alongside you in this wonderful journey of self-discovery and healing. I wish to help you discover where your path leads, and to help you answer this question for yourself.
